I just saw the most horrible thing today - a couple people jay-walking. I shall be forever scarred. While there wasn't any traffic when they crossed, no one elected them to make the laws. So should I alert the authorities before or after I incapacitate and lock 'em in my office?

        No he didn't.
He probably didn't mean to, but that makes his point even more retarded. The only possible way to make that into an even halfway fair comparison is if you think invading Iraq is comparable to invading Germany in 1944... because (and get this!) people can think that some wars are far less of a magnitude and importance than others, thus making them willing to support the one with the greater magnitude and importance and not willing to the support the one with the far less magnitude and importance!!

Oh the horror, when will people learn that the government has nothing but their best interests at heart.

No, the comparison is based on the enemy recruiting more people because we are attacking them. You seem more intelligent than the average around here and I'm disappointed that you didn't catch on to the obvious and let your anti-Bush bias influence you thinking so much.

I'm mocking the stupidity of thinking that terrorists are going to leave us alone if we cut and run. That they wouldn't spin it as "defeating the Great Satan in Iraq" and would not likewise use the US as a foil to recruit more terrorists.

I wasn't aware that they had any significant presence in Iraq before we went there...

Because that's exactly the thought process being used . Please. I realize you are taking your posts from the Bush speaking points, but believing that is what people who believe the US should leave Iraq think is absolutely beyond absurd.

the comparison is based on the enemy recruiting more people because we are attacking them.

Which is absolutely ridiculous because the recruitment of the enemy in global terrorism is a far different animal than in a conventional war. I'm doubting that you have many people in non-aligned states join up the cause for one of those states (or groups) because the other one invades them. The only one I can think of right now is the Spanish Civil War, but even that was on a minor scale. In global terrorism the recruitment base is everywhere, and a completely useless war, that had nothing to do with the WoT, has increased that recruitment base, because everyone in those countries realize it was a useless war!

Why do you think that terrorists are attacking the US, as opposed to, say, Sweden?

face it, they want us dead. No matter what we do.

Ignoring them, and pulling completely out of their society would be the best thing we could do, if only they didn't have that oil...

Great Satan is really more of an Iranian term. I take it that you're all up for attacking them? That's sure to sort things out.
