    Queen started in mid 70's.

      Other great bands:

      Sublime
      Pink Floyd
      Phish
      Ben Folds
      RatM

Actually, some of the 80s music was just awful. And this is what had the worst music.. not what is had the worst overall. So we should be focusing on what was bad in a decade, not what was good (because what was good shouldn't feature in this dicussion).

Their first album release was '73.

I saw them perform at Stafford Bingley Hall in 1977.

A ripping good show it was too.

And I lament the good music and gigs I missed out on...

I never saw Brian Eno perform with Roxy Music. Didn't get to see Ella Fitzgerald or Alberta Hunter.

Missed seeing Sandy Denny and Alex Harvey.

                Ah well.

And of course we all dressed so much more conservatively in the 1970s.

I'm 20 and think much the same. Am I old?:hmmm

When I come to think of it, a girl who was on visit here some weeks ago, was shown a picture of me when I was two years old. I said something like "and to think that that pic is almost 20 years old...", and then she said: "How old are you? 30?"

It's not Loper. If he tries to find music, it might help if he has proper spelling.

Even with proper spelling you're not going to find any "music"... just a bunch of noise.

IMO, there is some good 80s music. However, it was the whole 80s package/culture that sucked arse. It was a very embaressing time.

I would rate them (from best to worst)

                                1. 70s
                                2. 60s
                                3. 90s
                                4. 80s
                                5. current

IMO, current music is awful. I can't stand the emo/screamo stuff that's popular with the teens, and everything else is pretty bland. Alternative / grunge started dieing out in about 1998, replaced with droning, boring bands like Nickleback, who were then replaced with whiny, squeaking emo bands like Panic at the Disco. Hip hop / R&B has been completely commercialized and homogenized; though I'm not really a fan, Hip Hop/ R&B / Rap fan friends have been complaining about the dearth of quality music.
