  • A Revolution in Hungary

Protesters seized the headquarters of Hungary's state television network and set fires in and around the building early Tuesday after the country's prime minister admitted lying about the economy "throughout the past one and a half or two years."

BUDAPEST, Hungary (CNN) -- Protesters seized the headquarters of Hungary's state television network and set fires in and around the building early Tuesday after the country's prime minister admitted lying about the economy "throughout the past one and a half or two years."

"We lied throughout the past one and a half or two years," he said. "We lied in the morning, we lied in the evening and also at night."

The bastards even lied at night

Anyway, it's cool to see people still get pissed off when their politicians lie to them (not that I'm hinting anything)

Tsk, it's not considered cool to post threads exposing Socialists in this way.

In the excerpts, Mr Gyurcsany says harsh economic reforms are needed.

"There is not much choice. There is not, because we screwed up. Not a little, a lot. No European country has done something as boneheaded as we have.

See, the Bush administration is smart: They never "lie" or "deceive," they "misspeak."

Hmm, the UK could provide Hungarian phrase-books, to liven things up a bit.

This is a dumb reaction. Now they're essentially telling government they shouldn't admit they've lied, or they'll riot.

By the way, a man like Jacques Chirac may finally start to appreciate New Europe. They're showing real rioting potential, even at such a huge distance from Paris. Why, the primitives even have something to riot over! Incroyable!
