a man at least attempts to defend his castle. unless theres nothing worth a goddamn in it.

a technologically advanced male would construct jacobs ladders in every doorway that can be tripped by a handheld device.

Folks, great discussion going on here, how about the fiber make up of a man? We are looking on many parts which are attributes but what of the inner workings, what attributes should a man have inside himself?

      Courtesy?

      Integrity?

      Perseverance?

      Self Control?

      Indomitable Spirit?

that would be a paranoid creepy male, like that guy in Austria who held that girl as a slave. He had all sorts of alarm systems and security devices in his house.

Be wary of men who like gadgets.

MRT, just asking how old are you...25? 30? younger..I ask due to generational consideration of where your values are, not bad values just asking my friend

im 22. And half the stuff Im saying is just for fun.

really i think being a man is being honest, keeping your word, working hard, and bringing happiness to the people around you.

              and eating prowess.

I was asking opinions and thanks for being honest!

I didnt want to come on with a wet blanket because my whole point was to discuss across many generations and cultures represented here at Apolyton what males think attributes should be

                  Nice troll though..

                    taking things in your stride

                    a sense of fairness

I guess all these things are also attributes of being a good person, regardless of sex. But i see what has been mentioned in this thread as things men should aspire to especially

Real men don't start threads like this

Attributes of Manhood? The fiber make up of a man? Sorry Gramps, there are no universal attributes that define "a man."

What goes for me is total alien to my next door neighbour. All a man (or a woman for that matter) can do is stumble through life and hope that when he looks back he can say "okay, I really ****ed up a lot of times and there are lots of people I really should apologise to but all in all, for all it's worth, I could have done worse..."

Well, what I'm really trying to say is that, when you get older you mellow a lot and realise you are not the center of the universe. I found out how futile it is to show that I am a "real man." I'm just me and right now I'm quite happy with being just me.

No more real man stuff for me.
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
                            Once again...

Being able to open up a can of whoop-a$$ in Civ isn't an option?!?!?

Perhaps Universal but I am speaking individually, as in what are some attributes, as in drinker=No man of his word =yes

What goes for me is total alien to my next door neighbour.

                                Maybe maybe not

you can make efforts to do better rather than simply stumble..............

                                I agree

I agree and thank you for your candor

Your showing signs of being a man as we speak by admissions of observations and discerning preconceived notions society puts in our path to hurdle over or go around
