Which is why it enjoyed such widespread support. The majority of the House are all tree hugging vegetarians, right?

The bill didn't have majority support amongst Republican representatives. It was the Democrats (78% voting for the bill) who pushed it through. Maybe it wasn't tree-hugging vegetarians who voted this ban in, but it was definitely politicians beholden to them...

For Europeans that think this is stupid, do you think eating dogs should be banned. The Chinese eat them, while we wouldn't think of eating them. It is the same thing. Most Americans would only eat a house if they were starving and had nothing else to eat eat. While Europeans eat them without a thought. Most Americans see eating horses just as bad as eating dogs. It is mearly a different in ethics.
