I think that some women will do all sorts of craziness to look good. Veritass, he is meaning more than just liposuction.

I don't think it is a healthy culture where girls devote so much expenditure to looks, and they aren't getting paid actress/model salaries.

Well, that's a separate issue. Professional models and actresses will find all sorts of additional work opening up to them if they're willing to undergo this "procedure", often at higher pay scales than previously.

I WOULD say that this represents the decadence of a superficial materialist (in both senses) culture that objectifies ALL human beings, but especially women. I recognize it makes me a terrible person, but I have little or no sympathy for people who go through these procedures and wind up scarred or worse. It's one thing to correct a deformity, but if you can't put down the ice cream or learn to accept your crooked nose (and find a guy who does as well), and your so desperate for "beauty" that you'll risk going to the dude who worked on Jack Nicholson in Batman, you pretty much deserve what you get.
