  • I love Lidl

I just came back from my local Lidl, and got bag full of stuff. Basically, I get half more when I shop there.

So why do I TRULY love it, besides the prices? It's just awesome, because some people look like they are guilty while shopping there. Its prices are considerably lower, so only poor folks shop there. And you don't want to be poor, or you should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't know, this might be cultural Finland-only thing. But I love it how some people are all guilty and stuff, most never even step their foot inside Lidl, because it must be a trashy place selling all these products that are prolly dangerous to eat. They'd rather pay for 'quality', while they can't really afford it.

But what they don't understand is that they have been brainwashed by the Finnish society, that everything made in here is basically superior, safe and definitely worth the 100% extra on price.

So, I'm just happy to shop there, I get more stuff that is perfectly fine. It's not my fault that they have better business model than our local losers overcharging by large margins....

The local unions of shops put on a fight that Lidl could never step their foot inside Finland. Why? Because their claim was that their way of doing business might be even illegal with their price play... lol... I mean, how stupid is that? Of course they were protecting their 'domain', and it was clear they don't know the word competition.

There was a lot of heat about it when it happened, and it was like OK this means our businesses will die FInnish products will die and we will basically end out of food and die of hunger at some day. But when whoever is in charge of giving permission for businesses say they are perfectly legal and there's no problem, what they did was they lowered their prices a LITTLE. Then it was like all shock news: People buy more! NO ****?!?!?!?

I'd love to firebomb few of the places of these idiots, just because they are too stupid to live and own a shop.

Also, you can hear all kinds of languages there, because foreign students as well as local students use that place a lot, because everyone is after good prices. Just today I heard Italian, German, English and Arabic in this one shop.

So I love Lidl. I hope they drive our local businesses down and kill them and destroy these idiots. And I hope the local farmers die also. They are just like mafia, I mean the only difference between the mob and them is that they don't have inner problems that has resulted into shootings. Other than that? Completely the same strategy. I hope they die, I hope their children dies, I hope their bodies will be disgraced and left to rot. And I hope their supporters will feel very sad and die soon after that also.

Business is business and there's no business like business business.

I think you like Lidl because it makes you hope people will die.

I just read that Lidl in Norway are going to start to sell more Norwegian products because no one wants to buy that "foreign crap" that they were selling there.

Right, and they sell domestic products in here as well. But they still have created markets for themselves from 0 in fast pace. We need this business in here.

I mean I love it because people feel disgusted going there and buying 'foreign crap'. I mean, to me, that's just funny

They're opening here this winter and the domestic retail chains are in panic never seen before. Competition is already stiff but Lidl made them all wet their pants, publish books that smear it, etc.

          I can't wait. It's our European version of Wall-Mart I guess.

              Oh and almost forgot!!!!!!!!!

Today, some old lady came to me when I was looking for a change to get a troller (you have to put 1 euro coin and you get it back when you return the troller) and I was like damn, I have all kinds of other money but not 1 euro coin.

So this old lady said to me 'Young man, follow me'. This is literal translation, people dont' say 'young man' in here, but she said it and I thought that damn, she put it that way, now I HAVE to follow, it's like I owe her and whatever she wants, I must do.

So she whipped out this keychain, where she had modded it so, that you can use the trollers for free. I was like 'this old lady is teaching me some street tricks here, how to basically not pay and get stuff for free.' I mean.. I had to love it. How can you not love it when someone who could be your grandma takes you personally and shows some tricks how to beat the system? It was basically a hack.. she was totally trollerhacking

It cheered me up. Only in Lidl.

VetLegion, dude it'll be fun. You're seeing the panic now we had few years back. It almost got brutal, total smearing campagns ... but they have what people want, low prices. That speaks for itself, go on and do dirty tricks because they got the best trick, cheap prices.

oh yes, I remember where I read that now. on the front page of one of the biggest tabloids it said:

hahahaha... it seems where ever they go, this happens. But it's not because Lidl sucks, it's because they are afraid they are going to lose markets.. which they are, but not considerably so.. there's always room for Lidl, because when it's all said and done, they are pretty small, like the smallest shops anyway. So the tax money is still rolling in, but citizens also get to choose and have more options, I think that pretty much sums up an ideal situation.

Lidl food honestly make me itchy and turns my skin into a disaster. But eating for a whole month with 20 euros is still acceptable
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

BTW., I don't know if you folks know this, but there is this thing in economics called "price discrimination".

Basically, companies don't want to charge everyone the same price, since then that price has to be rather high and they miss out on those who would buy for less. But they don't want to charge less because in that case they lose out on those who are willing to pay more. So what they do is market the same product under different strategies. In effect, you can for example find expensive brand name food which is pricey, and food that is deliberately packaged so that it looks cheap (and makes you think "jeez, this must be poison since the package is a white bag with only the store name on it, can't they afford a better package!?") but is of same quality of the expensive stuff, and maybe even the same thing.

In other words: low price doesn't have to mean "poison", and ugly packaging is often deliberately that way.

                        See this article for example:

I don't particularly like Lidl, but at least they're better than the commie scum known as Wal-Mart.

VetLegion, sure, and there are tons of other reasons why it is cheaper. They have a whole different business strategy, which allows them to set prices so low.
