I thought that was the whole point of the prison and seaman and monk and school boy jokes..
Precisely, and since when did you use some appallingly tedious tabloid joke as the source of some big human truth.

I went to a boys school for four years, and out of my year group of ~500, only I and three others ended up sleeping with men.

Alternately, you two could spend the next ten pages and five days arguing over who has the burden of proof, in order to make absolutely certain that you don't waste any time looking up information first.
Which would be preferable to the "you're wrong" "no I'm not" "yes you are" (repeat ad nausium) pattern of arguments that don't go anywhere. At least if he makes his argument clear and backs it up, then I can either attempt to refute it or accept it based on his evidence. If he can't do that, then why bother make the claim?

Herresson is saying that many males in the islamic world have sex with other males if only for the lack of females. He is not making a statement on homosecuality, but on homosexual experiences, which is NOT the same thing. I think his prison comparison is apt.
The distinction, if there is any, is completely irrelevant though, since the premise of his argument is homosexuality/homosexual experience (or whatever you want to call it) is inversely proportional to the number of females. It's that relationship I want him to explain.

You probably, not for the first time, made some delusional interpretation of my posts and thus started your gay crusade...
Yes quite... bend over infidels, right?

As You've said, it is hard to prove, as well it's hard to prove the opposite. That's I don't bother to do it. Not enough gain for me if I do.
Well then if you have no argument behind your claim, I'd retract your argument. The only gain you're making by not supporting yourself is making yourself look like a twit!

Anyway, that post shows how prejudiced towards me, and unable to mantain a discussion, You are.
No not at all... if you say something that's worth reading I'll give it its due consideration, just like most other people here would. If you don't structure your arguments at all, then why should I waste my time accomodating them?

Just because I defend the church when it is right, and its right to have its own opinion, You think I'm somekind of fundamentalist. just because I defend Poland against unfair treatment by some posters, some of You think I am nationalistic right-winger.
When did I ever question you about Polish nationalism? I alternate between not caring, and being sympathetic to Poland because its where much of my family came from. Also, a person criticising the Church does not automatically consider the defenders of the church to be fundies.

I hope no polish poster sees that post, though.
Why not? Why are you so insecure about it?

No. I just don't want to start proving something I find obvious, for the benefit of a single person, who offends me and won't believe me anyway, probably.
      Why do I offend you?

I'd believe you if I thought your arguments were true and your evidence sound.

How is it humanly possible for a sane man to experience discomfort while listening to Queen?

If you have no concept of subjectivity, so be it. There's plenty of music I hate - it's the flip side of being passionate about music I love.

Queen. I was so young back then. I really didn't even know he was gay.

I never saw any men have sex in the navy. Of course, it's strictly forbidden, that may be one reason. And the other is the social pressure not to have sex with each other. You wouldn't be very popular with the crew if you did that. Out of all my time at sea, I never thought of having sex with my shipmates.

Before berating the audience for lack of appreciation, it's usually worth checking that you've said something funny.

OTOH, I may have missed a cultural reference somewhere ...

men don't have sex with each other in the navy. case closed.

The prison thing is about power, not sex. It's essentually rape.

as for boys schools, I don't know much about them. I don't think it's healthy, but I doubt it causes experimentation (this is the word to use for homosexual acts performed by those who aren't necessarily homosexuals).

Yeah, as your post stated.. men don't have sex with eachother, they experiment together.

I know a fair percentage of the lesbians in Boulder, and an uncanny percentage of them went to all-girl boarding schools. Even their peers who are "straight" tended to experiment with other girls during their school days to a much greater degree than public school girls. This unscientific data set doesn't prove anything of course, but I've seen nothing to make me think that people who are denied access to the opposite sex are not more likely to engage in homosexual behaviors.
