why is Earth so small? Imagine it is the size or Jupiter... so many lands to discover... so many civs... so many different continents with unique fauna and flora...

Earth is pretty big to be a non-Jovian planet. It has been calculated that if Earth were a bit larger, gravity would have retained hidrogen and it would be a Jovian planet today. So neither civs nor fauna and flora there.

Actually, no. A protoplanet needs between 8-10 times Earth's mass before it starts pulling hydrogen and helium from the protoplanetary disk. Only pass the snow line (the point where it was cool enough for ice to condense) was there enough material to build woulds of 10 Earth masses.
A terrestrial planet larger then earth many not have any land, though. Super-Earths (called Panthalassic worlds by extrasolar planet junkies) wold be covered in oceans too deep for any land.
