I feel sad and depressed for Pluto, being so humiliated and degraded

It's not quite the right scale of the planet, but it's the right scale for the impact it would make.

I have no problem with Pluto being demoted. As to its having been "a 'planet' for so long now," then what about Ceres, which was a planet for a half-century (first half of 19th cen.) before being demoted? Are you going to discriminate against it, just because that was over 150 yrs ago?

        from CNN.com article
Much-maligned Pluto doesn't make the grade under the new rules for a planet: "a celestial body that is in orbit around the sun, has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a ... nearly round shape, and has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit."

Pluto is automatically disqualified because its oblong orbit overlaps with Neptune's.
Then shouldn't Neptune be disqualified for the same reason? It hasn't cleared Pluto out of its neighborhood.

If somebody photshopped in the DeathStar that would be even better.

Hmmm, does this mean we can longer call the Deathstar a planet-sized spaceship anymore?

The Death Star would take rather more offense than Pluto would I suspect to any such demotion

The Death Star is a small moon. Check your facts.

                      Edit: Damn. Too slow.
