Right. After posting the link on a Croatian political forum and raising the issue of "how are we going to thank Iceland", it came out that Iceland was actually not the first but the fifth country to recognize Croatia, after:

    1. Slovenia (26.6.1991. - mutual recognition day after declaration of independance)

    2. Lithuania (30.7.1991., before it itself became internationally recognized)

    3. Ukraine (11.12.1991.)

    4. Latvia (14.12.1991.)

    5. Iceland (19.12.1991., also Germany which postponed the validity of the recognition till 15.1.1992.)

True, some of these weren't internationally recognized by the time they themselves recognized Croatia, but became such before Iceland declared its recognition.

Have you Lithuanians checked your history for similar complexities?

You´re welcome Lithuanians. You still owe us a whole load of Eurovision points though. Silvia Night didn´t make it, you useless ****.
              Lithuania

but still somewhat better than that Svartadaudir (meaning the black death) stuff Icelanders drink after eating urin-soaked putrid shark meat.
The Icelandic word for the black death is svarti daudi with a strande d(Yes, I´m just saying this to be boring).
And the sharks pee in the meat themselfs, usually foreigners are told that the strange taste of the shark is because it is urinated upon by the fisherman.

              Sharks

Although, in the interest of history, Denmark was actually the first country to recognize the full independence of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - the day before Iceland formally did so.
Stop trying to steal the glory you terrible Dane.
If only you would have been so quick to grant Iceland independence.

                    Yes

Danes are evil. Well, except for the tall blonde ones with really large breasts.

I´ve never seen such a Dane, especially not a blonde one. They all look the same to me.

You should go to Iceland. I know many tall, blonde (men) with large breasts.

I had no idea obesity was a problem in Iceland. All the Icelanders I've met were on the thin side and none of the men had man breasts.

We Icelanders are fat. (Not I though) I think we rank second on the interational fattometer. Or whatever it is called.
