It's not all that bad... just most of it. I admit that most of the security around Belmarsh Prison (where the terrorists all get sent) is actually to keep the locals out, rather than the prisoners in, but there are one or two bits that are alright.

Although being within the blast radius of City Airport when they want to explode a 1000lb WW2 bomb above a major gas main that runs under the runway, is pretty scary. It's a good thing they didn't actually detonate it in the end.

Considering I work very close and live not much further away from that, it's a comforting thought. It hit home the talk of the latest terrorist plot that working in Canary Wharf may not be as safe as it seems (for the uninitiated, Canary Wharf is like the UK Twin Towers, but smaller).

I lived in Erith for a little while, i seem to remember the bus to work taking a scenic circuit through thamesmead every morning. It makes me glad I live in sunny surrey whenever I think about that neck of the woods

Since they got rid of the Pirelli tower, Thamesmead has spruced up and Erith has become the sh*thole.

Although Erith doesn't have to put up with the Business Academy. It's one of the flagship ones and is doing worse than the school it replaced.
