          It's not against the law to confess to something you haven't done, but you still might go to prison for it.

          It is speculated he confessed to get extradited from Thailand, where he was being investigated for molesting little girls. I figured it was something like that or that the dude was just a freak. Turns out it was both.

          Anyway, false confessions are fairly common, and many are knowingly illicited from the government.
          Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

            He got a free trip home. Charge him with fraud.
            The Thai police announced some time back that they had nothing on him. Maybe he was just bankrupt and needed a ride home.
