In New Jersey DUI and DWI are the same thing. 0.08 or higher BAC.

Violence is inherent in human minds, who knows what will happen after all the time of Buddhists and Bahais repressing their own nees for violent action... but then, as established, Buddhists have a history of violence.

        Japan in WWII anyone?

I don't think California uses DWI, IIRC. DUI is drunk or impaired driving -- big points, threat to license.

I'm not clear what the papers think the police covered up. He wasn't being charged as an anti-semetic a**hole, so what would his remarks have to do with the charge (DUI) in the first place. In fact, at one time many studios in Hollywood were owned and/or headed by Jews. I don't know this is still the case, but that might relate as to why he could be in trouble for what he said.

He's a big-time Hollywood player. How much to you want to bet that he faces no real consequence for his drunk driving?

Using this analogy, would this make the Nazis in WWII a good example of christianity?

As does virtually every other religion on this planet.

The difference is that at no time in history have buddhists acting on behalf of other buddhists or themselves as buddhists ever conducted organized violence against another religion or against those of differing buddhists views. Even the various schisms resulted in little more than a spirited debate.

I know nothing about Bahai, except that it sounds like a Hawaiian island but isn't. So down with Bahai.

BTW, refresh my memory: who or what were the yamabushi and sohei fighting for or against, and how was their common monastic vocation purely coincidental to their terrifying battle prowess? Mind you, I don't know the details, but I always assumed that the existence of established orders of warrior monks/priests put a nail in the coffin of the whole "complete nonviolence" theory.

                  Back on-topic, Gibson enters rehab.

                  But first, he must refill.

Those were the only references I could find on short notice as I had little knowledge of those terms.

But think of it like this, would you attack someone you knew to have "terrifying battle prowess"?

                      No? Thus violence is avoided.

He probably was putting the fuel cap back on and about to drive off.

I can't believe it is something as simple as that. I have a need for placing blame on Mel Gibson. Whatever he's doing there it must have some deviated preversion as a background.

After he came out with "The Passion of Christ", I heard a rabbi's sermon about how anti-Semetic it was, the rabbi made it sound like the movie was going to start a second Holocaust. I told the rabbi nobody in America was going to hate Jews because of a wacko fundie movie. The rabbi looked at me like I was nuts.

I was more accurate than I ever imagined. Gibson is giving anti-Semitism a bad name. There's a Greek proverb, "Whom the Gods would destroy, they first make mad." Hate drives people nuts.

                                And what's with the Jew-fro?
