Couldn't find anything for Hengelo but it must be over 50. We're sort of a twin town with Enschede though and I spend as much of my time there as in Hengelo. Enschede has about 150 nationalities on 150,000 inhabitants, so in terms of # of nationalities per 1,000 inhabitants must be setting some kind of record...

The council which covers the area of London where I live has a 'language shop' which covers over 120 different languages.

Yeah, why does New York get the 'all' option, and not London?

Hello there! I see you are discussing Racial tension. Perhaps I can be of service.

It used to inspire our nation to float past Lady Liberty. Now, the ACLU has conspired with Senator Boxer to make sure the poor and hungry are our military, not the masses we walk arm in arm with. Did you read the NYTimes this weekend? I think Giancarlo was the guest columnist - he was talking about the riff-raff he has to deal with at home and abroad, and how the liberals are using immigration to destroy this country. Dirka Dirka!

Apparently some people rank Toronto as being the most multicultural city in the world (yes, over London and New York). According to the UN, Toronto was second behind Miami among major world cities in terms of foreign-born population, but ours tends to be much more diverse.

Hardly any here. Various South Asian and Chinese factory workers and a very small sprinkling of whities. Easily 98%+ Korean.

Indeed. I've seen maybe a dozen non-Koreans in the week or so I've been here.

London, so needless to say, a lot (see Molly's above post). I suspect London would be in the 200+ category...

I doubt my borough is quite as ethnically diverse as Molly's (I believe Newham is the most diverse in the country), but probably not a million miles behind...

Washington, DC and environs is home to at least 200 different nationalities by the definition of the people who live here. Remember Nigeria is home to 3 nationalities as is Iraq, China has a dozen subnationalities, etc. Using these self-identifiers, the numbers add up in a hurry.

I'm from Wyoming originally and I doubt my hometown then had more than half-a-dozen including Native Americans.

I'm not reffering to ethnicities actually. I'm pretty sure China and Nigeria have only one nationality.
