Could be, haven't seen it here before - doesn't make it less fun
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Still not sure what we are celebrating vis-a-vis Belgium. Today is neither October 14 or April 29 (or whatever), so what's the big deal?

As much as I love to put down Spiffy and as humorous that overview is, it's also preposturously misleading. At one time it focuses on the intermediate setbacks, even though France went on to achieve overall victory (as with 30 Years War), and at another time it focuses on the ultimate outcome of the war, in spite of intermediate successes (as with the Napoleonic Wars). I'm sure you can present Roman military as one long string of losses as well in this manner.

Don't tell it to others, especially not Spiffor - it's supposed to be funny - not taken seriously

I don't think Danes should be allowed to practise the lost art of humor anymore. Last time they did so they managed to piss of about a third of the worlds population!

My post is actually more directed at Elok and others. And I did say:

This is at least the 4th time I see it on 'Poly. And it's a conservative estimate.
I imagine that's what Elok referred to when he was talking about "everything [he] has ever read"
Nope, that's my first time reading that, I believe. I was referring to every history book I encountered in school, everything I've picked up from living with a father obsessed with European history, Wikipedia, Larry Gonick, etc. I don't read history books for fun, because they are demonstrably not fun (another thing I picked up from living with my dad), so I'm just going by what I've encountered by chance. Americans don't need to know history. We have bombs.
Nah, it wasn't that succesfull. A third would have been a succes, but we only manged to piss off a fifth.
Btw, you have forgotten lego
