  • This is turning out to be difficult, somewhat unexpectedly. But there's no tradition for donating online in my country - and nowhere near as many organizations and foundations have websites as you see it in the U.S. Not ones that are updated with any regularity at least.

I will drop an e-mail to the Jewish Community in Denmark, and ask for directions on how to help. It will probably be by postal order, which is also fine by me.

And now, back to the delightful debates on the topic that caused all this.

I'm not talking about months or years. I'm talking about days. Just a few days. Days to come up with a plan, to liase with the Americans, check and recheck intelligence.

There's not a chance of recovering the kidnapped soldiers now, with half a million refugees on the move. Of course, the 'danger' is that if Israel waited, the UN might actually have managed to come up with a decent plan.

Remember Clinton's attempt to hit AQ in Afghanistan a couple of years earlier?
You could have been all over them in two weeks. Also note the sabre-rattling with Iraq - even when America lauches a stupid and wrong war, it plays by the book better than Israel ever would.

              • Nice slogan there.

Wouldn't "Palestine pays" or "the Ummah pays" work better though?

Why? What has changed between this attack and the prevoius one?

If you're referring to a potential UN plan, I only said it might happen. It's not particularly likely.

Of course. It might have been a UN force akin to the one already in Lebanon cooperating in Hezbollah from time to time in attacks on Israeli soldiers. That plan was a bang up job there.

                        • Of course many other attacks could occur while the UN debates on a course of action (which would probably end up in the form of a sternly worded resolution )
