BS. He does anything but move the offense. Orton was just as detrimental. I don't intend to argue that starting Orton would have been helpful, either. The moment the Bears cut their losses and play a real quarterback, (and they now have one on their roster) they will have a respectable offense.

It doesn't really get much better from there. The next drive, he fails to convert a third and five after two runs by Jones. The third drive, penalties keep it alive, and Grossman goes 2/5, with one of his passes for negative yardage. The fourth drive looks like the first. 0/3. Just count the number of drives where Grossman passes for zero completions. It's astounding how much the Bears hurt themselves by not giving the ball to Jones.

Look at Kyle Boller's career stats, then look at Rex Grossman's. They were first rounders from the same year. The Ravens have cut their losses and given up on Boller. Honestly, Boller has outclassed Grossman in every way imaginable over the past three years.

I would argue that the handful of games played is a significant part of the problem.

The Bears are my favorite NFC North team, and it bothers me.

This year, if the Bears win the NFC North, it will be by default. Minnesota should be much better this year, as its defense has a year under its belt and could perform like it was expected to last year. Detroit is a big mystery. I don't know what to expect from them. So many high draft picks for so long AND a new coach to lead them? I just don't know. Green Bay will sink or swim this year, all based on the arm of the future hall of famer Brett Favre. If he can squeak out another good year when under this much pressure, they will be good (and Brett can do it. Just look at that MNF game against the Raiders the day after his father died. Packer fan or not, that was truely inspiring!).

Actually Japh, I think that if Palmer has a good recovery from his injury, the Bengals are my odds on favorite to win the SB.

I was at the Bengals/Packers game last year when the naked dude took the ball from him. I think Favre WAS awesome... not any more, sadly. It's like when I had to watch Montana fade away in KC... It sucked.

The Bengals are having a lot of issues right now. Palmer is awesome. I hope he comes back strong. However, I'm hoping for an NFC Super Bowl vistory.
