When I started on Apolyton I was fifteen. I'd never kissed a girl, my bestfriend had recently stopped talking to me forever, and I was just beginning my doomed downwards spiral at school.
Now, at twenty, I have a girlfriend (my second) of nearly two years, a bestfriend whose existence defines the word friendship for me, and... uh... I take a few classes at my local community college when I'm not working.

Early 2000. I was 11, finishing 5th grade(!). I had two best friends, and one of them is among my two best friends now. I hadn't even met the other yet. In about a year and a half, I would.
My grades were probably better then than they are now, but it's just because middle school was uber-easy. I had never taken an exam, and I had never studied for a test in my life. Since then, my study habits have improved a little, but my standardized test scores still far outstrip my academic performance.
I had been smitten with a girl or two in my class for a few years, but I had only told friends about it in the immediately preceding year. One of them I'd eventually develop strong feelings for, which would never truly be reciprocated. I'd get my first kiss in a couple of years, but it wouldn't be with her. It would be with the best friend of my best female friend. It got awkward quite quickly, but it was fun. I wouldn't have my first real girlfriend until 2005. Going to a single sex high school didn't help.
Politically I was a far rightist in almost everything, but I would begin to seriously question things over the next couple of years. Maybe two years from registering, I had completely flip-flopped on a whole host of social issues. That's one change with which I credit poly to some extent. Being taught by a gay teacher for two years in middle school also really helped.
By February 1, 2012, I'll have spent half my life as an active member of Apolyton. I think I should win some sort of award."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won. If you were a woman, you'd likely be a slut." - Slowwhand, to Imran
