its a waste of time compared to actually meeting people in person which many on myspace dont do

The political right especially right wing radio seems convinced that myspace is where every sexual preditor on Earth hangs out but the reality is a few cases come to light per year yet millions upon millions use it so myspace is less dangerous then driving or walking to the corner store. Only people who can understand averages or do math in their head will figure this out so as far as most Americans are concerned it does not exist.

BTW myspace is great for "meeting" girls who you will never meet in real life and who want nothing more then to have 900 people on their friends list. If you actually want to date someone or meet someone new then it is the wrong place. It is nice to keep in touch with people you already know.

I was but I have a girlfriend and know myspace is not the place to meet new people. Instead I try work, the bar, meetup.com (which actually has different people in my city), a local dating service, and organized co-ed sports. It works just fine so I don't need to piss my time away on myspace.

I have lots of friends from high school and college who have moved around the world (OK, mostly around the US and EU) so myspace works great for keeping in touch with people on multiple continents. I can post when ever I want and people don't have to read my blogs until they feel like it. I can see what other people have posted at any time. We can send e-mails no matter if our primary e-mail has changed a dozen times since we last spoke plus it always me to keep in touch with dozens of people who I don't care enough to send person e-mails to but who I care enough to internet stock 10 years after I last saw them. I.E. I wonder if Mike V. ever got arrested for having sex with a 4 year old or has he beaten the odds? Hey, isn't it cool that guy I knew in 1995 became an editor of a major comic label and now owns a $2 million house in the berkley hills? I am using actual cases of people I knew who I caught up on using myspace.

And no, Mike V. isn't a child molester (though several of us bet he would be one) while Andy G. did in deed become an editor for a major comic book label like he said he wanted to when we were in 6th grade. I **** you not that's the type of stuff I have learned on myspace.
