The story is pretty simple, I think. I guess, that's the "ritual" he had in his family to show a father's love towards his own children. More probably he just reacted like he did when his own children were of the same age as this boy. I have no idea what cused such expression of "father's feelings". But the guy has two daughters, perhaps he always wanted a son. I don't know.Originally posted by Pekka

But I witnessed many times much more wierd things like father meowed like cat to call his child home from playground.

yeah... might be one of those things you just can't explain too much. I mean, sometimes I do stuff I can't explain, just little things that are weird. I'm sure everyone else does too, just an impulse.In da butt.

Of course not. But that boy didn't sleep in Putin's house (aka Kremlin).
Putin was surrounded by mob (mostly by parents and thier childern, though that boy was accompanied by his grandma, not parents, but that's irrelevant). That mob was pretty exited - "OMG!!! IT'S OUR PRESIDENT!!! Go Nikita say hello to our president.". A seconds later Putin was surrounded by children, they had a short talk. I guess that sudden meeting was pretty unexpected for Putin and he simply didn't know how to behave in such situation. So he reacted in the most natural way for him, just like he does with his own children - he kissed the kid, said good bye and went away.
IT'S SUCH A BIG DEAL!!!

I never made it a big deal. I just said, that it was weird and strangers are nto allowed to kiss my children on the stomach. That's all. Stranger = everyone else except immidiate family.In da butt.

You might be right that that he is just a father and a politician showing his care for children/his political carrer, but I'm pretty sure that he is the first modern and considered sane politician (
that really doesn't make sense - sane and politician used in same sentence) who have done such.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
