I should note even though my job has pissed me off a little lately, I've met too many cool women at this job. Right now I have the problem of having two women interested in me at once. Which is not good in a working environment. . I'm not exactly sure how to handle this. I'm in way over my head.

I live on the Oregon Coast. Wide, empty Pacific Beaches, 20 lakes within 20 minutes, rivers teeming with salmon. If I come to Berlin it won't be for the scenery.

Hmmmm let's see, my job well yes, it's lovely. I scoop up warm steaming piles of poo, pee and get coughed on and farted on every day. I clean out ooooozing sores, change bandages and every now and again have to clean up dead bodies. So I'm not really sure how to rate my job. I don't think there's a scale for it.

You know Lancer, your job is sounding better and better think that blouse comes in my size?

I'm a fan of nurses. My job would be intolerable without them. It is a great crime that nurses get paid next to nothing for the Christlike work that they do. I think the fact that CEOs and lawyers, who destroy the world, get paid handsomely, and the Mother Teresas of the world get spat in their face - I think this indicates that there must be a Heaven and Hell. Otherwise there is no justice in the universe.

All in all it's a good job for a young guy.
IMO the perfect college jobs are "minding the store" type jobs. Security guard, hotel night auditor, late night phone support etc. are all great because you typically will have a few free hours to read / study.

My current job is one of these. I rate it about a 7, mainly because it is pretty easy and allows me about 4 free hours a night to post here (I only post here from work), read, work out etc. It pays reasonably (45-50 k), and I get over a month of vacation a year. But it's dull. Hours of tedium puncuated by moments of sheer boredom.

Me too-- my wife is one and my mom was one as well.

No argument here. Although the approximately 70K she earns is better than "next to nothing", I can't justify why I make more than her.

Hey-- that would sting if we lawyers had any feelings or a conscience.

Well my nurse wife benefits from my income just as much or more than I do so maybe there is some justcie for her out there

I agree totally. I worked through law school as a computer lab assistant. Basically I studied, socialized and played RISK on the computer. The pay sucked (minimum wage) but since it was a minimum effort kind of job, that seemed fair

Excuse the delay - I shall fill you in, but it's not too exciting. You see when I took the job I had some experience of the job, now I have earthscorching experience at one of the kings of the sector. However they have decided that the best course of action is to treat me like sh*t for all the work and responsibilities I have - an index-linked pay rise, no promotion in line with the job I actually do. And their desire to fast-track me has dried up as none of the original managers who were there when I started are there now. Too few people (numbers have declined) compared to twice as much work as there was a year ago. And I'm also getting that two year employment itch...that's it really.

My wife is a nurse as well - she does triage in the local Level 1 ER. Personally speaking I don't know how she handles some of the things she has to deal with on a nightly basis.....

There's a reason why most nurses are women. Women are angels at such stuff.
