What do they use in the US? Fluid ounces or litres?

US fluid ounces, which are slightly smaller than imperial fluid ounces. A brit pint is a little over 16 US fluid ounces, AFAIK. A bottle or can of beer is 12 US fluid ounces. A case of beer is 2 dozen cans of beer.

Liters are referred to very rarely, even though they are listed in addition to fluid ounces on food/drink containers. Coke and some other drinks are the exceptions, and come in 2 liter plastic bottles.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

It's litre. And don't claim that is the US spelling of it, metric units are an alien concept to you

                    1 UK pint = 1.2 US pints = .568 litre.

So your 2 litre bottle of Coke equals 3.5 UK pints.

Since there's no UK team there can be no UK fans.
