drive up to Twin Peaks in the middle of the city (Market st turns in Portola), if the weather is nice the view of the bay area day or night is worth making the trip. We used to party up there
alot
Chinatown is usually fun, my neighbor was Chinese and he introduced me to the scene. The Cliff House SW of the Golden Gate is kinda cool, they had a huge indoor swimming pool that burned down about 100 years ago. Too bad the amusement park near the Cliff House moved away, but it turned into a 1/4 dragstrip. Naturally they cracked down on that too... Make it more safe, made it less fun...

I like nature so I was thinking about going to Mount Lassen National Volcanic Monument but I'm loath to go inland since lately the central valley has been hotter then a monkey's butt crack.
North and on the coast you could go to Point Reyes National Seashore, Mount Tam (Nice day gives 360 panorama of north bay/SF/Pacific Ocean), John Muir Woods (if you like tall trees).
I must say Japher was right about Concord being terminally boring. The whole place goes to sleep at 10pm and Walnut Creek isn't much better but atleast it has a few good bars. Today I drove down to Berkley and had a look around and tomorrow I might check out Six Flag's Marine World in Concord but I have a feeling it is going to be a lame Sea World. Point Rayes might be better; I haven't been there since 2001 or so.

Six Flags is in Vallejo. Take I-80 to Highway 37, take the off ramp and get into the right lane and take first off ramp to the right, stay in left lane, there will signs, just follow them.
I live in Napa, so it would take me about 20 min now days to go to Marine World.
