Right now it's flying tail end first over Austria.

Amazing to think, just 20 minutes after launch.

Who knows? Just be careful, and don't break anything! I'm told there's only like a couple left of them.

Even Switzerland and Mongolia have been invovled in manned spaceflight, Denmark must be the only country in the world that hasn't taken part in it

We're all above such silly tomfooleries. Since there's no beer and presumably very little of um.. that other good stuff in space, we were wise enough to take a rain check.

I was down at Cape Canaveral on Saturday to see the launch. The launch scrubbed because of weather, but I got some quality beach time in.

Good to see that they got it launched yesterday.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I watched the night launch of the mission that fixed the Hubble. That was friggin amazing. I got to see it go over a few hours later when it was in the dawn but Florida was still in darkness.

What impressed me was how often stuff goes up. Little rockets almost every few days.

Unfortunately, not much goes up in the US any more. Maybe once a month. Sometimes less.

In any event, it looked like there were a couple hundred thousand people in Titusville and the surrounding area on Saturday.

Lots of people in Daytona for NASCAR too.
