Kind of like when you lose a fight, you don't go startin' **** for a while. You kind of get your humility back (if that's the right word). Give them some time, they'll want to start kicking some ass again.

In the case of the U.S. Until the U.S. loses a major war, it will continue to want to wage war. Vietnam set us back, but only for about 10 years.
Well, that might be just it. They know enought to shut the **** up. They know what it all leads down to. Maybe you Americans dont and will only learn after a total war on your continent.

In my eyes you still have that senseless and naive belief in your way of life being superior to everyone elses that got the Germans butts kicked 60 years ago. You still fail to understand the the horrors you unleash in Iraq or any other part of the wolrd may haunt you down to your suburbs and capitoleums. You may think your wars are not a big deal, but in a moment it escalates and soon the victory or defeat is total. I'm sure you will comfront this situation in the next 100 years.

A computers nerd and a general nerd talk about Germany's geostrategical position.

This place could be ludicrous if it wasn't so sad.

Germany has no geostrategical position. They're so lame and safe and pacifist now that it's incredibly boring.

There is nothing geological, nor strategic about it. You got your ass handed to you in consecutive wars, so now you're the world's b*tch. C'est la vie.

Everyone wants to be an expert in two fields - the one they study in and politics. It's hilarious.

It just bothers me people are not allowed to have opinions on a subject they are not an "expert" in. If that's the case, why are we all here? WTF do we have to talk about?

I have opinions on germany just as I have opinions on Palestine. And I know I'm right about Palestine, even if I have never lived there. The evidences is clear as day. Germay is a little more cloudy. It's hard to say what will happen in 50 years. But I expect more of the same (as I do with Palestine)

Dis, is physics about opinions? Also, even if you accept politics is less of hard science, don't form opinions if you lack information. The talk between you and Asher proves how people think theys know so much when they know so little.

Asher was just trolling anyway. Does he think I'd react like Serb does?

I guess that is why US politicians regularly ask Europe and esp. Germany to spend much more for its military. They are just waiting for another chance ZOMFG!!!

I'm happy to leave the fate of Germany in the hands of the German people. The movie was excellent, though I found my thoughts turning too often to the actress playing Traudl Jung.

                              - The movie was OK

                              - Bruno Ganz was amazing

                              - But the ending was a bit... predictable.

I found the movie OK, if a bit unoriginal.

The depiction of both the underage Volkssturm draftees and the Nazi elite gives the impression of them being unconscious players in a massive role-playing game, with ideals that no mature, sane person today could take seriously, which I found interesting. There are also characters that have been freed from the illusion such as the SS doctor and the father coming to take his son home from the Volkssturm roadblock, and opportunists trying to save themselves. All in all, a nice movie about people coping with the shattering of an insane ideology and a massive personality cult built around a single psychopath.
