I'm glad you have such a good opinion of my scientific knowledge, then.
Isn't everyone from your neato HS a science whiz? I thought that was the point of the thread.

Not really. We've got a really, really good drama program (they win some really fancy award almost every year), and we have a good humanities program. And an extremely disproportionate number of math/sci kids.
Having gone to the same type of HS, I am well aware that while most people in them are math and science oriented, many aren't (like myself).

is that for most of the college applications, the question:
How do you intend to pay for your education?
had the answer: Daddy.
Hence, the high acceptance rate at private universities.

that at Kuci's High School, all the kids have homes with multiple bathrooms to call their own.

Well, given that catchment area, you are probably right.

I know. I came from one just like it. In fact, that question was question number 7 from the application for the University of Southern California when I was a senior in High School.

To me that is prime evidence that secondary education in the uS could be a lot tougher.
I agree . In India , we use books in schools ( for the last two years ) which are used as textbooks for first-year college courses in the USA ( or for AP classes ) .

Admissions at all the top universities are need-blind nowadays. At least, everywhere I looked.
However, if you think that legacies and donor $$ make no difference, you are naive.
