You kept that one quiet this evening...it would have added some 'fun' to the conversation if you'd mentioned it

If I really wanted that as the main topic of conversation, I'd have brought the red corset which will make up part of my costume

I'm just pleased you didn't partake in a 'dress rehearsal' this evening

Hm, although I live in the Ruhrgebiet, I very probably have a too tight schedule (after all it´s in the midst of the week) so I very probably can´t come

You kidding? Meeting a bunch of German nerds or seeing the semi-final of the greatest event in existance? You'd be mad not to try and get tickets if you're so close-by (or even just watch the match in the centre of town on one of the big screens if you can't get tickets).

You'd likely get to see either Germany or Argentina (possibly the Netherlands) vs either Czech Republic or Italy (possibly Ukraine). But it should be a great match regardless of who's playing. It's the knock-out stage match that's closest to where I live, I'd try and get tickets for that one myself if it wasn't on my dad's birthday

Get another ticket for your father and go together, it's not like you could buy a better present anyway .

Now if anyone is in/near Berlin it would be another thing

To be fair, most German forum users I have met are much less nerdish / geeky than most of the American and English ones I have met.

Gibsie, you're busy dressing up like a huge nerd?

                              What's the hurry?
