We'll agree to disagree on that.

Does it? Senatorial races can sometimes be quite close. Depending on what state and district you live in, perhaps presidential.
I live in Illinois, Vesayen. I'm from Georgia.

I've never lived in a state where my vote mattered one whit.

I am not satisfied with the current state of affairs. I am not alright with a plutocracy. However the alternative of American liberty permanently disappearing, massive loss of our military ability and significant harm to American standard of living, is worse.
And you think the Democrats can safeguard that, or not erode it as fast. I disagree. You haven't made the case they wouldn't do the exact same thing, nor have they.

After all, when confronted by every single example of these violations, these abuses, the Democrats could have, oh, I don't know, said something or tried to stop it before it became known on CNN.
Right now we have a choice between a government which is hellbent on taking our prosperity and our freedom, and a government which will only continue to maintain previous harms to our liberty and perhaps hand us prosperity.

We can only realistically work both towards prosperity and greater freedom, from one of those scenarios.
I have no confidence that the Democrats are not the in former category.

The democrats don't really want to erode our rights. What is more, every time they try it is POLITICALLY ADVANTAGOUS to the Republicans to create a big stink both in the media and the senate, so they do it.

The democrats are not as much under the control of corporate interests as the Republicans are. For that reason alone they are less prone to corruption because corporate interests are the largest motivator and rewarder of corruption.

When they try to stop it they fail because they do not have a majority. CNN and other news outlets will not cover IMPORTANT political issues for a laundry list of reasons. They know its futile to take their case to the media right now and it is, isn't it?

It does not help that the democrats are called unpatriotic and traitors every time they disagree with the Republican majority or the president.

The AMERICAN PEOPLE don't know the difference so they are covering their own asses which really is understandible given the current political climate.

The Democrats have lots of issues, problems and have made an assload of mistakes.

Still better then the Republicans and for reasons I explained above, are still preferable.

We desperately need a political realignment
Why?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Bull****ing****. While that may be the case some of the time, it's very far from the case most of the time. Why didn't they make a stink about the NSA wiretapping before it became a big news media thing? Why didn't they make a bigger deal out of Valerie Plame before the news media?

The Democrats are spineless, snivelling cowards unable to take action on their own. Frankly, they're not leadership material, and there's no reason for me to give them the job.

A good leader does what's right, not what appears right. That's the problem with this administration.

Unfortunately, the Democrats don't do what's right when it's needed, and only make the appearance of doing things right when the spotlight is on them.

I refuse to reward such sort of political grandstanding with my vote.

I refuse to support either of the two parties.

Read the rest of his/her drivel. Sometimes he/she even *EMPHASIZES* the shouting.

Once again, I never said they were good leaders, quite the opposite. Just better. When the Republicans threaten to end our prosperity and liberty, i'll take less corrupt, more competant sleezes then worry about getting rid of them later.

Our patient has several diseases. She has cancer and the common cold.

Let's cure the cold first, because thats going to kill her first.

Colds are rarely fatal. What good is fixing that when she's pretty much dead from cancer?

Just because you're unwilling to tackle the big problem doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't.
