I'm sure there won't be colliding stars or anything absurd like that, but won't there be intersteller gas clouds essentially colliding at high relative velocities? Maybe that would at least make some pretty bursts of star formation or clear away some of the clouds that obscure the galactic core(s) or something? Surely there will be some sort of interesting consequence to such a collision besides the combined galaxy eventually looking like an elliptical-shaped galaxy?

    • I'm glad we don't live in a globular cluster. It would just be way too lonely.

How did the globular clusters end up out there anyway?

cause I said so, who will be around to prove me wrong

        say what?

how about the gravitational pull as the two close in on each other ?

so when the arms of each galaxies collide into each other, it will be a near miss only ?

when the galaxtic cores collide another miss ?

this is a picture after two collided

true most mass does miss, we will be disturbed though

approx 131 known solar systems in our galaxy

deep sky ocbjects are not in our solar system

        • does not really matter

2 billion years after that, our sun goes nova

so let us give NASA billions and billions to get us out of here

I would respond, but this makes no grammatical sense.

Globular clusters were ejected fron the core of the universe by collisions of galaxys.

Lots of galaxies have super black holes in the center. While most of the solar systems will pass each other, not all will. More importantly depending on the angles they meet at, a number of solar systems could hit the black hole.....

Actually, the chances of even a single one becoming gravitationally disturbed is very small. I've seen the calculation before.

                    • Everywhere is the 'core' of the universe lancer (at least on our dimensional membrane).

Or put another way 'one core is as good as another'.

I prefer to view myself as the exact core of the universe....and Hubble confirms it!!

What do you mean by the "Big Bang", ecthy?

In current cosmology there is no need for a singularity. The rapid expansion of the Universe which occurred some 13.6 billion years ago took place over a finite length of time (the inflationary epoch), and was preceded (hypothetically) by a relatively steady state.

There is no point in time which you can point at and say "the big bang happened here".
