I heard him on the radio, and this is what I gather.

Part of his argument is that when China closed itself off and turned its back on the outside world, there was some destruction done to records of earlier, outward looking efforts.

Part of his case is that the natives on Cape Breton Island had a system of writing, and that clothing had some similarity to classical Chinese dress. Something about hats worn by women, from what I caught.

It's quite interesting, especially the stone ruins that are on the island. He is waiting for permits and a team of archaeologists to be assembled as the government won't let amatuers go about digging things up.

I won't put odds on him being right, but I wouldn't be surprised either. I think I'll buy that book. At the least it'll be a good yarn.

        China

During the struggle between the Bureaucrats (inward looking guys) and the Eunuchs (outward looking guys), the winners (Bureaucrats) did destroy many of the maps and records of the ocean faring explorers.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

The walled towns of China were often located along small rivers and built into the sides of hills.

Just like Mediaeval and Renaissance Italian towns.

            Or German towns.

            Or French towns....

How he makes a Spanish early mediaeval myth out to be 'evidence' for Chinese colonization of the North Atlantic I really don't understand.
