Asher is completely right. I just don't care. Words only mean what those who hear them want them to mean. If gay people choose not to be offended by the word anymore, then it is no longer offensive.
That's easier said than done, of course, but it has been done before.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

I too have to agree with Asher on this one.
I am a gay man and if by using the word "gay" to mean rubbish or something unwanted ... does that not directly corrolate back to me being "rubbish" or "unwanted" as a gay man?
There is a definately a "slippery-slope" syndrome involved here. I'm just surprised that everyone can't see it.____________________________

But why should you want to be offended by something that is not intended to be offensive?
While the word itself very obviously has the correlation it has, the person speaking the word, and the person's intent behind the word, don't necessarily have any negative connotation.
It defeats the point of communication to, when someone says something that is not intended to be offensive, interpret it as offensive.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

For me, someone using the word "gay" in a deragatory manner is not a desensitised form of use of that word.
People who use the word "gay" to denigrate something or someone is either consciously homophobic, or they are simply clueless and lack perceptive thinking skills.
And those who call me a PC Nazi for this can **** off. Now it seems like no one can find anything offensive with anything, less you want to be called a PC Nazi.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

It is indeed irritating, having to agree with Asher.
