From what I understand, the heating of descent vehicle, when it goes down to the surface, is caused by air friction. Still, your articles don't explain what caused Laika's death. The overheat reason sounds silly to me.

Exposing the apollo missions as fake would have seriously embarrassed their primary geopolitical rival at no cost to themselves. Furthermore even if against all reason they decided to keep knowledge of the whole mission being faked to themselves there would have been official record of the decision which surely would have comee to light by now.

At the very least you need to explain why the soviets would have wanted to keep silent about an obvious space hoax.

assuming death was by overheating there is no need to think in such dramatic terms. Pets routinely die of overheating just from idiots leaving them in cars in a hot parking lot. They aren't dramatically burned just dead. Anytime you put something in a little tin can keeping optimal conditions inside can be tricky.

And if I was on your place, I would also mentioned that astronauts installed some reflectors on the moon surface. It's one of the main proofs that Americans were there.
