Well, let's look at the interest of people here. Two young guys, did a prank, didn't think it through, crossed the line definitely. Aftermath, nothing. Worst case scenario, munchies.

Now, I'd say, give them a punishment for sure, that can not be acceptable, however, screwing their lives because of this is nothing short of ... something that relates to fascism.

Not just felt weird, thought they'd been poisoned, thought they were gonna die, and then add being stoned to those emotions. They were terrorized.

Also consider that eaten pot is far more potent than smoked. The worst experience I ever had with pot was when I made some brownies and unknowingly used many times the amount of pot I'd been told to use. I used two bags of bud instead of two bags of shake. A certain other poster hasn't tocuhed pot since, it was such an unpleasant experience.

Cuz maybe none of them had ever tried pot. And even if any of them had, it's unlikely any of them had ever eaten it. I don't know many people who have eaten even if they've smoked. You need to remember that a supermajority of folks in the U.S. claim to have never tried the stuff.

Plus, it's not like its all that easy to calm down someone who's freaking out, and then they were on drugs on top of that.

I'm all for drugs being legalized and I think more people should try them, but this was beyond uncool. It's along the lines of dropping bowling balls from bridges.

Che: I think yours was an entirely different case with the LSD included. There wasn't any LSD in the brownies and the kids didn't think there was any. It was just marijuana, and it didn't get the expected effect.

There's no reason for jail time. Community service, probation, etc would be a much more appropriate punishment.

The problem is that those students forgot that you first need to go though a process of learning how to manage the effects of a drug before you get to enjoy it, whether it be cannabis, alcohol or any other substance. It's a common misconception to believe that from the minute you use a substance you've never used before you'll be getting the desired effects. Give spacecake to a bunch of kids, most of whom never went through this process, and let them eat it as if it were regular cake, is NOT going to end up well.

What about the 86y old lady? 2 day in hospital... man this lady is already dead, she will die soon. Why she didn't die while she was high... oh no, she want to die, while being sick, with terrible pain, without being able to talk...

When I was younger people was killing each other to get high.
