Let's see what they do to journalists who pry too much, shall we?
Reporting on abuse in detention facilities is totally different from reporting on what Parliament just passed. Iran is certainly not at the point where the latter would be suppressed.

They aren't my arguments, dip****.
They are the reporting of the BBC, HRW, and United Press International, those bastions of neocon boogeymen.

You claimed it was only "a picture." I said that it was obviously a prelude to reporting on conditions at detention facilities. Common sense dictates that.
How do you know what will get suppressed and what will not?
By what has been suppressed in the past. Empiricism is what the idea is called."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Poor quality of my argument that Iranian authorities suppress the press?
They aren't my arguments, dip****.
No, the argument that any of this is a reason to rely on Iranian exiles as far as reports on what legislation parliament passes. Douche."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Two others, Banafsheh Saamgis, of the newspaper Iran, and Mohsen Sharnazdar, editor of the newspaper's music supplement, appeared before a court May 1 after the publication of a review of a book about Iranian women musicians, which says the Prophet Mohammad enjoyed listening to music sung and played by women.
Having been scandalized by the review, several mullahs in Qom called for the "judgment of God" to be applied to the managing editor of the paper. "God's judgment" is widely understood to mean the death penalty.
Exactly what do you know about society in Iran, and where exactly other than your ass are you pulling your empiracism from?(\__/)

Nobodies arguing that, dumbass.
Except for lotm. That's what Gepap quoted:
"One wouldnt have to listen to Iranian exiles for events in Iran, IF Iran had a free press. Which it does not."
That's the argument that Gepap was criticizing. ******.
Exactly what do you know about society in Iran, and where exactly other than your ass are you pulling your empiracism from?
Evidentally, much more than you.
You do realize that the article doesn't mention a sentence, right? Only that that were before a court. You also realize that the article mentions that 12 journalists are currently in jails? If Iran locked up everyone who wrote things to this effect, that would be a far larger number. No totalitarian society has only 12 journalists imprisoned."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

But the most absurd of your arguments is saying that a foreign journalist hanging around a prison is probably reporting on prision conditions and potential abuse means that I'm "justifying the mullahs"..."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. Oh jeez, the fact they are being prosecuted isn't a big enough clue for you?
Come on, dude. This is the sort of **** you eat the Yankee establishment up for. What are you defending and do you have no shame?
As for LotM and GePap, I was reacting more to GePap's lame 'they aren't totalitarian' line than anything else.
LotM may or may not be right.
For instance, in the land of the corporately owned media 24/7, we have no shortage of reports on the latest comings and goings of legislatures so you would be right.
However, there are lands out there that are not America. I **** you not.(\__/)

Not everyone brought before a court is sent to prison (or executed). Crazy idea, I know, but bear with me.
And I'm not defending anything. There's that reading problem of yours again.
In a country with 80 million people, if you have only 12 imprisoned jounralists, you don't have a totalitarian society. Fact. There's a difference between not having a free press, and being totalitarian. A pretty huge difference.
The question here is whether Iran would suppress factual reports about vast new laws that parliament enacts. Not every authoritiarian society is like North Korea. I **** you not."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

You're going to pin your whole line of argument on Iran only having 12 journalists imprisoned, gleaned from one line of one article?
At what point in time? Do the dead ones count? What if the 12 figure is incorrect?
And what part of demanding the death penalty for writing about the prophet enjoying music played by women made you feel better about the people who really rule Iran?
How desperate are you?(\__/)
