Exactly. I thought I was in a monogomas relationship, we were going to get married until I found out Mr. Happy was making everyone happy. I had no clue but now I'm branded with an std. imagine being single and telling prospective partners about it. ive been shot down more times than i havent and im beginning to get pretty bitter about it. Im not going to lie though which has crossed my mind on multiple occasions.
ive tried the "tell them upfront before anything happens" approach, thats netted me female friends which I dont need any more of.
Ive also tried the "let them know when we get to that part of a relationship" approach, which has netted me female friends, freaking out, never talked to again, etc etc.

Pap smears test for infections, and you aren't in the clear if they intially turn up ok. That's why women with signs of other strains of HPV or it is known that a parter has had sex with another woman with abnormal pap smears, it is suggested that the women gets more frequently tested for a while. Yes, technically there isn't. You are testing for abnormal cells that HPV is already infecting. It's not very reliable.
In the scenario given, getting tested before and after a rape, it would not be reliable at all. The woman could have gotten the virus, but have been very healthy and have no abnormal pap smear because the immune system was just doing well. After a rape, like many women, she might end up being very stressed. This hurts the immune system and thus the HPV would have a much easier time.
