We went on a great vacation last year. It was a tour arranged through Friendly Planet and covered Peru and Ecuador. The first week was Peru, including Cuzco and two days at Machu Picchu, which was marvelous. The second week was Peru, including Lima and then a four-day cruise of the Galapagos Islands. It was two weeks, but it was like getting four vacations in one.

Regarding Vietnam, I actually went there and as Rufus said, one of the best trips ever.
Still an unspoiled place and just hard to describe, it's so different from other places, and the people are extremley nice. Mostly Europeans visit it, (French, British, Russians) and Aussies - the Americans that go there are usually Vietnamese-Americans (who can be identified by their light hair and boob jobs LOL). Unfortunatley I didn't have time for a trip to the North, but the pictures I have seen are drop dead unbelivable.). Saigon is great, but it's not so unlike other bustling Asian cities (like Bangkok). Hanoi is really different, though -- quite beautiful and exotic. Well worth a trip back, believe me, though perhaps not so soon.

Out of those I'd pick China and Taiwan or India. Why? Well, first of all I'd like to visit all of those places, but I'd like to spend some time in each of them.. the only 'faster' visit I could see doing is to Taiwan.
But like China, there's so much to see and experience, you'd have to spend like a month or so.. Peking, Sanghai... country side, there's just so much stuff to be seen man.. take the trains, eat all the foods and stuff. Maybe witness few riots and ****, you know there's some riots happening in the countryside.. I mean protests.. take secret photos of those, just to make the trip more interesting. But anyway, It just can't be done in a week or two.
Also, getting stamps in Taiwan for your passport, I mean, first of all there's no direct flights from Taiwan to China (except in practice yes, since they just go to another third country airspace without landing), but you know.. don't know how that would work.
Maybe not a problem but I'd find out before going.
Then India, man, you have to experince that too in more than a week or two. Because oyu need to go to at least few places and not spend it all in one place. THere's much to see in India. All those cities, sights.. it might be quite hectic so you could end it with chilling in Goa or something. Getting wasted, getting it on with Swedish tourist girls, drinking some more and enjoying the sun and the parties. But culture and important stuff first. In da butt.
