Bush is not going to go down as the worst president in History.

Maybe 2nd worst then . Warren G. Harding was pretty damned bad.

Honestly, Bush has enough sense to at least not give the longest inaugural speech in the rain without a coat on.

However, at least that president didn't **** anything up while he was in office.

But that was also because he died less than 6 months into his term.

What's going on now is not new to US presidents.
Indeed. Wasn't new to Reagan who is noticeably absent from your list.

Guess Nicaragua, Iran-Contra and Lebanon don't really count.

And guess political support of Iraq during their war with Iran and support of the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan didn't end up biting you people in the ass years later...

Wait, I keep forgetting that for some people Reagan is even more infallible than Jesus Christ.

No way Harding was worse. Just as corrupt, sure, but didn't do active harm to the Constitution and its citizenry.

W is much more like Nixon, except that Nixon had a couple of positive major, lasting achievements.

Or, we could compare him to Buchanan, except that Buchanan's White House wasn't especially corrupt or incompetent.

I guess W really is beyond compare...

I think when they did a poll about it, James Buchanan came out worst.

Comparing Clinton's personal affairs with GWB's massive mishanding of domestic and international issues.

BTW Bush's list should be much longer.

Actually, according to Wiki's comparison of various presidential rankings, Harding edges out Buchanan. But their explanation for Buchanan's poor showing -- "Failure to avert Civil War; ruined his party; weak leadership" -- might work for another ex-prez in a few years.
