  • Communists start both World Wars

God love the History Channel. Thanks to "new" information, and I say "new" only because I only recently learned of this from the History Channel, I was surprised to find that "Communists" began both World War I and World War II, at least to the extent that they fired the first shot both in 1914 and in 1936.

With respect to World War I, the group that assassinated the Archduke of Austria were anarchists. That assassination began a chain of events that ended in a world war.

With respect to World War II, it was none other than Mao Zedong who attacked the Japanese in Peiking. That attack set off a series of events that resulted in war in China and eventually America's participation in World War II.

As with many of us, I was informed when I was growing up and throughout my entire life that it was the Germans who began both World War I and World War II, and that it was Japanese who began the war in China. It is good that historians are now beginning to tell the truth about what really happened.

Hopefully those pieces of information were not produced by historians. I'd like to meet a "historian" who'd mix up triggers and causes of WWI. That sounds like reactionary bull**** out of some armchair historians' arses.

Somehow I'm glad that I can't see that channel - I'm afraid that I would die due to too much laughing.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

We all know that Morrocco caused World War 1 (actually I'm only half joking).

Don't you think it's a bit disingenuous to claim that Mao started WWII? Come on. Maybe he started the war in the far east, but the Germans started the war in Europe. Is there any evidence that what was started by Mao in east Asia helped spark things in Europe? I seriously doubt it.

no chance at all. I seriously doubt the germans really gave a **** about Asia.

It seems they are showing the causes of WW2 from an american point of view (which started with Japan). But america came only in the second half.

But the point is moot. As all commies are bad. 'nuff said.

I have a channel like that. National Geographic Channel. I just call it the Hitler Channel because every time I turn it on they're showing a WW2 documentary. Always some NEW information or SENSATIONAL discovery. '

I can't really be bothered to comment further on the OP

Ned, you WERE ironic about that, right? You DO know those claims are utter bull****? That the structural explanations for both world wars ARE quite consistent and cannot be easily refuted with ideologically charged HATE?
