    He's said many times.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

You'll fit right in with all those conservative people in the oil industry.

        Anyway, good for you.

Well unsurprisingly people in business loke to believe in business

Actually the best thing for me is that it should be fewer hours working in an average week. No more slaving to billable hour or worrying about the state of my practice. Spending more time with my children will be important to me

The oil industry just believes in being very conservative in business, more so than many other industries.

I had a chance to be a petroleum geologist where I could have worked for the oil companies. I must way I was tempted by the extra $10k they offered but in the end I didn't want to be a part of that scene and I didn't want to spend 9/10ths of my life traveling to where ever they needed an oil well drilled. Especially since oil is usually found in the ****tiest places on Earth.

Instead I work in the environmental field where I try to figure out ways to clean up the messes other people have made. I find it rewarding, abet less financialy supportative then working in the oil business, to work in the environmental business where I help to improve the quality of life inthe community I live in. I guess I have made the choice to make less money in order to wake up each day and go to a business I feel good about. I don't regret that and, honestly, I still do pretty good.

I tend to avoid such threads. Decent people ignore the law.

The up side is that the stock options should be good. There is now a greater need for good scientists then there are good scientists. That means geologists and petroleum engineers are now making much more then they were making in the 1980's. Right now life is good if you have the required skill set.

That's just stupid. The oil comapnies didn't steal jack cheese when they invested billions to find oil and gas in Venezuela or Bolivia. Instead these companies trusted science, they bet big money that those wells would pay off, and those wells did pay off. Now we have thieves, in the form of socialists like Chavez and Mareles, who succeed in stealing what the oil companies have found. Without the oil companies those nations would have nothing. I honestly think people like Chavez or Marales should be hanged for being the thieves they are.

Oil companies?? Depends on the specific corporate culture but most treat their employees very well. ITs not as demanding as private practice law-- that is for sure. Actually most of the employees at the oil companies enjoy either a very moderate workday or very high pay as compensation for the extra hours

Lawyers in private practice work ridiculous hours, Kid. Thus, even if he works pretty hard at the oil company, he will likely be working less.

I know the attorneys that work here (inside corporate counsel) always say how cushy it is compared to private practice (although it doesn't pay as well).

Usually in industries where there is shortage of qualtified employees the employer tries to get the employees to work more. No?
