Iran Threatens Israel if U.S. Attacks

It was Iraqi Scuds that struck Israel during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Fortunately, none carried biological or chemical warheads. Still, I believe a few dozen Israelis were killed by the conventional blasts.

Nope. I think it's pretty funny that a UN resolution (provided one even existed, which I'm uncertain of) is viewed as binding the hands of Israel against direct attack by a sovereign nation.

Well it seems the UN is a bit out of fashion nowadays, so it makes no sense to listen. A bit like a central government put up in a place like Somalia.

The really funny thing about this is, though, that there won't be a big chance to replace it without another big war. So either there will be a multilateral agreement to go back to institutional cooperation, or we go back into fully anarchic IR.

IMO Iran is just trying to goad the UN - the USA mainly - into attacking them first. They'll look better that way when they defend themselves. IMO there won't be any question as to whether or not Iran has WMD's when we do as they'll use them.

Israel has been unchained since 1967, which is the whole problem. The first step towards peace would be for the US to stop diplomatically supporting Israel.

The heads of state of the nations in the coalition were in control of their respective forces, by and large (though some were attached as auxiliaries to other nations' control). Certainly no large proportion of US forces were under UN command of any kind. Neither were Israeli forces under UN command.

Your ignorance of the command structure during the Gulf War is laughable.
