For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

If you dont care about genocide, I cant give you a reason that will make sense to you. Im certainly not going to argue here about whether you should care about genocide. Im posting this to help inform people about what is going in.

Well, let's try a different track then. What sort of action would this group like to see taken? US troops deloyed to the area? Sanctions? Something else?

theyre calling for a variety of things. Go to the website and see what theyre asking congress for, what theyre asking the president for, what theyre asking the UN for, and what theyre asking private citizens for. Of course this changes as the situation in Darfur changes. The site really has alot of info, and I recommend it to those who want to know more.

hmmm, I wonder why people would march against genocide.

Maybe. Really, I'd just like US troops not to be sent there.

The current proposal is to have UN troops go in, to supplement the African Union force, which is too weak. Any UN force should have at least logistical support from the US and NATO. In other places UN forces routinely have support from the US.

Whether Sudan will continue to resist such a force is not clear.

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought Darfur was some animal from a comic or something.
