In the 1935-36 Season The Detroit Tigers won the World Series, The Detroit Lions won the NFL Championship (No Super Bowl Back then) and the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup. (There was no Pro Basketball back then) No other City has ever done this (not to mention Joe Louis won the Heavyweight Title). Thus Detroit was labeled the City of Champions.
Well it's 2006 and no city has ever won the Stanley Cup and NBA Championship in the same year. The Pistons and Red Wings ended the seaon with the best record in both leagues (something that no city has ever done before)
Will Detroit do it again?
Vegas says 7-1 they won't. Dallas has an outside shot and I suppose New Jersey (if you wanna call that a city
) has an extreme long shot.
Anyways my personal opinion is the Pistons have about a 70% chance of winning and the Wings about 40% giving them a 28% chance of both doing it.
Any other opinions?
