On a side note, chegitz. The quote you give ( "If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it's good enough for Florida." ) when googled seems to be a quote from Miriam A. Ferguson (Texas governor in the 20s) that turned into an urban legend, because I found it attributed to "an Arkansas congressman to the Joint National Committee on Language", "a Texas congressman who was not joking when he said, in rejecting calls for the use of Spanish in local schools", or "during a school board in Tennessee debating about whether or not to introduce the study of foreign languages into the high school curriculum."
