It'll most probably be the battle of Armagedon, eventhough that one won't be really spectacular.

After the majority of the biblical end-time prophecies have been fullfilled (lots of them have already been fullfilled in the 20th century) it can't take really long anymore (just my simple guess. I might be wrong, like all 'guessers' in the past though )

        - 19th century: jews return to Israel
        - 1948: Israel becomes a nation again
        - 1967: Jerusalem becomes an international problem
        - 20th century: christianity spreads all over the earth
        - 20th century: christianity starts to lose ground on it's prime locations in europe
        - globalisation
        - Man becomes more and more 666 (which just means: 'almost equal to God', we're about able to regenerate life, modify life, not to mention all advances that were made in the 20th century)
        - Research and technical development have increased amazingly in the 20th century
        - the '7th' king has come and gone (Hitler-germany)
        - mass destruction weapons are available to kill in huge numbers

those are all pretty accurate fullfillments of biblical prophecies. I could list the bible chapters / verses, but I know you guys are to lazy to look it up anyway

Oh, and son of David: The New Testament speaks over the jews as the people of God. They're the first. It says: "First the jew, then the greek" (where greek stands for all non-jews)
It even speaks about a jewish prime position during the end times. Which is in fact one of the still to be fullfilled prophecies: majority of the jews accepting Jesus. (you may not like that one though, but if it happens, pay attention )

It's not where you live that's important, it's who you are, and no one can take that away from you unless you willingly give it up.
Since you claim that Jews are so special (by virtue of being Jewish, not by virtue of living in Israel), I'm a little perplexed by your apparent failure to appreciate this.

Is he the Messiah who was promised, who would make the Jews kings of the world and all the nations their servants?
Oh, so they wanted to be the "Master Race", huh?

          Well, cry me a river.
I know of someone else who also had such ambitions, in much more recent history. Are we all filthy for opposing that too?

It depends on if the change of China's government is peaceful or violent, and if violent who comes out on top.

My thoughts were along a similar line. A chinese civil war would be a WW2-like event.

See how ridiculous religion is - now they start arguing with one another about their fictitious deity...

It's ridiculous to say that religion is ridiculous because it's followers do stuff (arguing) that all people, including non-believers, do all the time.

In fact it makes religion as ridiculous as democracy, since the main representants of democracy are arguing in public all the time as well.

False analogy. You all know your God, yet none of you agree. I don't have arguments with people over how Stewart Spink looks and where he went to university...

                      Yes.

But, Christians must be careful not to be so selective with their interpretation of the Old Testament. Isn't the central message of those Hebrew Scriptures the supremacy of God's law over the law of man, which is always evil, and the love of man, which is fornication?

                        @Son of David:
yes, I agree with you on that. (despite the fact that we most probably disagree on the question if man is able to live up to the laws of God)

I think that your views on the coming of the Messiah and my views on the 2nd coming of the Messiah are more or less the same.

@Provost: of course is my analogy not perfect.
I'm not trying to prove that the analogy is perfect, I just try to show that you can't say that an idea of religion is wrong because those who follow it disagree with each other.

For sure not christianity, since the message of christianity is: "Man is no good, no matter what" so the fact that christians argue and fight among each other is no surprise.

So who of you are right then? Or can we safely assume that everyone has their own little fairy tale?

If he didn't exist would we have to invent him.
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Why is it "who of you" and not "who of us"?
Or are you believing the fairy tale that your fairy tale is no fairy tale?

I'll tell you a little story.
In those days when all computers had dos 6.2 installed my friend told me about windows (3.11 of course)
He told me that it would be possible to run multiple applications at the same time!
I tell you: I had no clue how that would be possible! I was like: "Will the screen switch quickly between both apps so that I can see them both at the same time?"
I was totally amazed and didn't understand at all how that would be possible.
The concept of windows was way beyond my idea of possibilities.

Does that mean that windows didn't exist?
Is it like: "If you can't understand it, it doesn't exist!" or something? If I can't see it, it's not there..........

That's a little bit like playing hide and seek with my little nephew. He closes his eyes and says: "You can't see me since I can't see you. buwhahahahahaha"

your "believers are idiots buwhahahahaha" buwhahahahaha is a little bit like his

Just to answer your question: I am right
