L.A. is reporting it's first case of Bubonic Plague since 1984, CNN.com is reporting.
I'm not exactly shocked. The Plauge is caused by flea bites off of infected rats, and, following last Spring's heavy rains, there's been an plague of rats in the city.
My house backs onto a park which has high grass. Months ago, every house on the block was invaded by the vile rodents, even tho we have a very nice neighborhood. It took us months to kill them off. I've been told that these rats really love moisture, and that they've had a population explosure because of last Spring's heavy rains.
So now we get the Plague. Terrific.
