JohnT beat me to the obvious spam response.
So in serious response, the question is what are the economics of such an approach and are we talking methane digestors or heavier hydrocarbon productions?"Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson

And something else, I have this guy who believes it's doable to build solar plants in the Sahara desert, covert the power to hydrogen, and then reconvert it in Europe. Supposedly, 65% of the energy is maintained and the whole deal is profitable. I think he's full of crap.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.

I support nuclear power. Global Warming is a far greater environmental threat to human beings. If you don't like reality, change it! me

Nuclear power is enviromentaly friendly. Bury it in some ####hole. As long as the mining process is not so wastefull as to offset the gains, its better then any other energy production in terms of enviromental bang for the buck, compared to all combustion forms of energy production.
Solar electricity is just not viable for a majority of our power unless we are willing to cover say.... montana in solar cells.
I think that would be great, solve our power problems-we'd never do it though.

Btw, one of the prime things holding back "renewable" but intermittent energy sources like solar and wind is the lack of an efficient means of storing the energy. Advances in that area could profoundly change the calculus. He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!

Converting the power into hydrogen, and reconverting it as needed seems to be an often-suggested option.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.
