Nah, you've rabidly attacked us, because deep down, you know that techies such as yourself are shallow morons.

          • He did it in YOUR mind, which is obviously tarded... I know you librul losers are on a mission to attack me from all fronts now since I huffed and puffed you out of your poor and stinky caves, but the realization you will soon have is that you are nothing but maggots and ants and that's THE TRUTH.

Just because Pekka feels the need to compensate for a small penis doesn't mean that every science/math/technical guy is that bad though.

At the US Naval Academyl, there was a popular saying:

                        Poly Sci
                        QPR* high!

Classes were full of failed engineers and they admitted that they BSed papers. Poly Sci guys had a hard time in the required math/science courses (EE, Chemistry, etc.) Scientists and Engineers had no problem in the PolySci courses they took as electives. There were a couple Poly Sci classes that were actually challenging--I took one from Professor Hagan that required a 2 page paper (no longer!) typed (back before computers) every week that would compare/contrast 2-3 different schools of thought on a given foreign policy issue in American History. But that class was a rarity. Poly Sci guys couldn't handle the basics in Engineering, much less the advanced stuff.

Oh...wait...that tough course was actually a History Class. Poly Sci dies again!

Am I happier? Sure. Will l make as much money? I don't know. Will I be able to make a decent living? Yes. And to me that's all that matters.

I don't know any polsci student who is studying that because he failed in another path.

Failed engineers usually go for a technician education here.

                            • At the end we will end up in an technocratic society.

Where reason and science will be overestimated, and politics(the art of negociation between several interest groups) will be dead. Since engineer will have the thruth or the key of knowledge, they will be the only groups to decide and to choose what is good for human(like economist on many issue). We will end up in a way where the will of people will be in conflict with the "thruth" of engineer. Engineer by their education deformation they will want to drive the society in an "materialism efficiency", like some economist who choose economic efficiency over humanity.

Even if I understand the first post where he explicit we can loose the race of innovation(and so economics prosperity) against Asia since we will suffer from less engineers. But like I said before I do think the road of economic prosperity is not by underfunding liberal science. There is many more things to do before being restrained at this sad eventuality. One possibility is to make many more links between liberals arts and engi science. In economics one of my professors specialised in the field of energy(taken from the theory of thermodynamics) to introduce it into formulation of production.
                              (http://www.cours.ecn.ulaval.ca/cours/ECN-11495/EEG.pdf ;
                              http://www.cours.ecn.ulaval.ca/cours...1495/DAVID.pdf)

I do think these debate is actually more linked between two kind of personally perspective. Than rational arguments between Eng vs Libs.

Thisduality can be overpassed, if we look from an higher perspective.

                              • BS!
For my part, the guys I know who have good results in political science are the one who were goods in math/physics.

Whatever, one of the most difficult degree to have is philosophy!

And this is not a argument to make philosophy better than any other degree....
