librul art majors: try to come to realization of something that is utopia, then chase after it.

real men: Realize the world around you and the facts of it. Learn how it works. Now, operate it. Make it better.

That is technically true , as all other sciences were once part of philosophy , and became separated when they became specialised enough . The credit must go to philosophy as a discipline for nurturing them up to this point .

      And I'm a hard sciences student .

That wasn't the point. I've explained it numerous times now and I will decline going back to this trivial matter.

No point in subsidizing either. Supply and demand should drive students and wages and all that. If you subsidize engineer education, you just create more engineers and drive down wages (of benefit to employers of course).

There is nothing magical about engineering versus softer stuff. Be careful of thinking that we can micromanage the economy. The Soviets worshipped at the alter of heavy industry and forced electrification and such and it was a terrible misallocation of resources.
I think this post had such a good point, it was worth repeating

Invididuals should decide by themselves, for themselves.

that's because high school math is like learning to drive a car.. everyone can, but to truly 'know it', you should be able to at least drive a rally car, or F1.

Please tell me, are there still workers to recieve the advice from philosophers, cultural and social scientists and the orders from natural scientists and engineers?
                  Best regards,

Hitler was a painter. Not to say he wasn't a horrible person, but it shows you do can make it in that field.

Kuci, yes and that's why he did what he did. I guess. Well he was insane thinking he could control the whole world. And also the 'dream' about racial purity etc. Pretty much a person who is nuts.
