That kills me, that you guys posted 100+ times chastizing me for something that would've benefitted Boo more than me, as it turns out. Both of you are terrible poolies, you don't understand the game very well and you still stick your nose in other people's business. It's really, really sad.

This is why your teams both suck, by the way -- Canucks and Oilers. You really have no idea what good trades are. Good trades are 3rd round picks for Kipper, or Montador for Huselius... I guess I can't blame you guys, since your local teams just gave you a bad education.

Yes, but it was my trade to make, not yours. My point is you overstepped your bounds, threw many persistent personal attacks and generally acted like a little sh*t to me, for the second time this season (the first was you lying about me changing rules for my benefit).

The reason the trade was wrong was....

You picked up the player that Boo would obviously be in need of, since that player was replacing his own starter, and immediately (same day) tried to pry his best skater away from him with the bait.

Not only was that a bad trade from the POV of before Jose broke his foot, but it also could be argued that it violates league rules against making roster moves with the intent of interfering with other managers. Hense the taint of cheating.

Even after all this time, you still don't get it.

There's nothing wrong with picking up a good player that has been available forever and no one picked up, and use him as trade bait. That's how the real league works when you pick guys up on waivers and end up trading them.

The rule in question isn't that it would "interfere" with othermanagers, but that it would hamper their play:

4. No owner will make any roster moves (including waiver claims, trade proposals, etc.) whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other owners.

Given that he would have benefitted from this trade, I would like to see a convincing argument from you that he was somehow hampered. Further, since Boo was in a distant last place I was really not concerned with hampering his play.

The simple fact is, you and joncha don't understand the value of an excellent goalie. An excellent goalie is worth far more than a good skater with how the points are set up in our league. You seem to think they are on equal weighting, which is not the case. What was it, 2-3 goalies determine 3 of 7 statistics, and 9-10 skaters determine the other 4? Look at the ratio...

It wasn't your trade to make if you broke league rules.

It wasn't your trade to make if you hadn't unilaterally changed other league rules earlier. 5 votes to say 'no' scuttle the trade. There were five votes against that trade, easy. There was no need for you to throw a second hissy fit. You could have read the rules, abided by them, and come out smelling like roses after trying to pull a fast one and being foiled by everyone saying it was a bad thing.

But that's not your way. Your way is to argue every single point into oblivion. Keep the argument going. Wait for other people to say something inflamatory and go off on your own years long vendettas because that argument you stoke gets too personal.

You'll never admit to being wrong, or having made an error in judgement. Instead you'll argue untill you are blue in the face and then you'll hold a grudge for a very long time because other people dared to disagree with you and the argument got nasty.

I didn't. The trade was not intended to hamper him (why hamper a guy in last place??), and it was not intended to interfere with fair play. In fact, the trade ended up being in his benefit. I don't care if you didn't think it was a fair trade because you're not insightful enough.

First, I'm the commisioner and league settings were under my control. I did an informal poll of what people thought, everyone who replied said the 2 day wait/voting thing was stupid. I changed it. I even gave people a second chance to vote to re-enable it but no one seemed to care. joncha said the 2day wait was stupid and then he started a hissyfit about me changing the rules later, when it suited his argument.

BTW, does your current argument have anything to do with the hindsight of seven shutouts when it was doubtful he would start seven games period?

All you had to do was shut up and abide by the rules. 5 say 'no', then no trade.
